Hi there! How are you?!
It’s been a while since I last wrote. It doesn’t feel that long, but it was such a weird summer, so I shouldn’t be surprised.
I’ll give you more of a catch-up on Monday, but first, I need to share the big news:
Woohoo! I’ve been bursting to tell you about Drew Steinbrecher’s online Gel Printers Summit!
GPS brings together fourteen top gel plate artists in one place so that they can share their processes, tips & tricks, and artistic thoughts for students around the world.
This summit is for anyone who wants to learn more about gel plate printing. The material is suitable for both beginners and intermediate artists.
The instructors will share prerecorded video lessons incorporating their favourite gel plate techniques to help invigorate your gel plate art at whatever stage of your monoprinting journey!
The summit opens on 2 October, but it’s self-paced, so you can enjoy it when you can. Enrollment doesn’t open until 18 September, so I will remind you again when the time comes.
If you’d like to learn more about it, go here: Gel Printers Summit.
So what to do while we wait?
Well, I have two video tutorials you may have missed. Both are filled with gel printing ideas for you to experiment with.
The first one is about image transfer gel prints:
The second one is about gel printing with baby (cornstarch), charcoal and watercolour powders, as well as PanPastel and other soft pastels:
And then, if you have some more spare time this month, you could join the Gelli Arts® ABC Printing Challenge on Instagram.
Throughout September, the Gelli Arts® artists team shares a video a day on the Gelli Arts® Instagram feed.
You can play along by choosing a prompt from the list below to inspire your gel printing and posting the result on Instagram using the hashtags #gelliarts #abcprintingchallenge and tagging @gelliarts.
I’m sadly unable to play along this year; however, I have one more prompt prepared, so stay tuned for that.
Alright. That’s it for today. I’ll return on Monday with a summer recap!
Marsha.
Exciting News: I'm an instructor at the upcoming Gel Printers Summit!
Amazing and so well deserved!
