There's still time to join in on the March Printing Challenge
Gelli Arts® hosts gel printing challenges on Instagram twice a year. One in March and one in September.
So the March Printing Challenge is in full swing right now, and they shared two of my reels last week:
In the early days, I used the prompts as a jumping-off point to monoprint each day of the challenge and try lots of different techniques and mediums on the plate.
Sometimes I printed on note cards so I could bind them into a booklet afterwards. Sometimes I’d fill an art journal/sketchbook with daily monoprints. And other times, I created one finished artwork per challenge week, using that week's prompts.
I very rarely did the challenge prompts on sheets of paper like you see me do in the reels above, though I once printed on sheets of tissue paper each day and used them for a collage.
And where I write ‘each day’, I don’t actually mean each day.
Sometimes I completed a week’s worth of challenge prompts in a single gel printing session. I’ve also sometimes participated by doing only one or two prompts.
So you see, you can use a challenge in many different ways to create a wide range of things.
Perhaps it's just the thing to get you out of your head or out of the infinite scroll. To get you to create, not consume. To have a little time for yourself.
There is still time! And you can make it entirely your own.
Enjoy your day!
Marsha.

I have used my gel prints to make mini meditation zines for my yin yoga class, but I like your idea of doing them on note cards and binding into a mini-book. And I love your vine/leaf masks. I think I might try that next...
