Birthday Weekend

Weekend vlog
2

Hi there! Happy Friday!

This week was mostly about thinking and planning. Which isn’t much to look at, so let’s look at my birthday weekend in London instead!

We had pre-booked tickets to see the ABBA holographic show on Saturday afternoon. So we had to think of something to do before the matinee and after.

I decided I would love to start the day with breakfast at Dishoom. So that’s what we did. It was absolutely delicious and felt super special.

And, as we were already in Shoreditch, we visited Old Spitalfields Market and (the record stores of) Brick Lane. We hung out there until it was slowly getting time to head to the ABBA Arena.

I had heard nothing but good things about the ABBA show. So I had high hopes, but I have to be honest; I couldn’t quite shake the thought we were watching something ‘fake’. It is remarkable, though!

On the way back, an older guy sat across from us on the tube. He was using neon highlighters to colour in sketches he had made in (what looked like) an old book of poetry. It looked fascinating!

Tapas Brindisa was on our walk from the tube station to our hotel and vice versa, and this time, we decided to go in.

We love Spanish food, so this was the perfect place for us. It was fab!

On Sunday, it poured. We planned to check out the annual Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair and then go from there.

We got there at 12, ordered coffee and a cinnamon bun from the extremely slow coffee bar in the hallway, entered the fair at 12.40, saw there was a free guided tour, and decided to take said 1-hour tour that ended up taking much longer (It was excellent. So fun, helpful and inspiring!).

Then we got another beverage and went back to check out the fair at our own pace. Which… apparently, is tortoise speed because we spent nearly the entire afternoon there!

You can see how many photos I snapped. And you can also see that good photography wasn’t my my main concern.

My head is still spinning from everything I saw and all the (mental) notes I took.

I’m happy we decided to go to this fair. It was so worth it!

At the end of the afternoon, there was a little time left.

We wanted to find a place to eat (birthday) cake but did not find anything suitable (probably because we were exhausted and ill-prepared) and ended up buying something at Harrods (I still wonder how we even got there) just before closing time.

We picked up Leon’s for dinner. Because, again, way too tired for anything else.

Moe maar voldaan, we say in Dutch.

Enjoy your weekend!

Marsha.
